2013-2014 Gouache, india ink, gesso, watercolor, and paper.
I have been preparing for a curated exhibition titled LUSH/Horror since 2011 that explores works that are simultaneously ‘overgrown’ and ‘wrong’, whether in a humorous, chilling or provocative way. Concurrently I am working on a body of work with the same title. One in progress sculpture, ceramic busts of Frida Kahlo and Carmen Miranda, face off in a work that examines the similarities in ornamentation and yet vast differences in the perception of these two icons.
Project 'Curated Bouquet Walks' is an in progress photography series of bouquets I create out of materials that I find on my walks. The only material in each photograph that isn't found on the walk is the background that the bouquet is photographed against.
